Many of these works are based on commercial patterns and are pieces that I have completed and then taught.
Art Quilts
Art quilts encompass use of fabric paints, tsukineko inks, shiva paintstix, art glitter. lots of threadplay, extra embellishments ... they have been dressed up!
Birthday Bouquet
This original piece is inspired by a bouquet of flowers received on my birthday! I used my scrapbooking software, plus software from Kaleidescope Kreations to create the focal blocks on my computer, and then printed them onto fabric. The surrounding blocks are log cabin.
Pieced Quilts
Pieced quilts are just that! Quilts that use traditional piecing from either bought or hand-painted fabrics. I also dye my own fabrics and encorporate these into my work.
Christmas Wrap
This original piece is based on the book "One Block Wonders".
Leaves
"Leaves" is a pattern put out by Cedar Canyon. All of the fabrics are manipulated with shiva paintstiks and rubbing plates, to produce new textures and images. I also trapuntoed my leaves, and added beads and art glitter to them.
